Neighbors supporting each other
Each year the Southern Gables Neighborhood Association delivers our familiar green tote bags with discount coupons, promotional goodies, and brochures from local businesses. Then in August we have Neighborhood Night Out, where those same businesses set up booths and interact with the community, offer games or drawings or free samples as the DJ plays music and we give out hot dogs, lemonade, free raffle prizes, and neighbors get to enjoy time together. The Tote Bags and Night Out have something in common: our Selected Business Supporters.
We are signing up businesses now for our Business Supporter program that begins each year with the Tote Bags in April.
If you have a favorite local shop, restaurant or other business that you would recommend for increased recognition and support from our Southern Gables neighbors, tell us about them. You can contact our Business Supporter Coordinator Penny Brenden (information at the end of this article) or email us at [email protected]. We will reach out to the business with your recommendation and see if they qualify for our listing. It’s a grass-roots thing, and the businesses you recommend will surely appreciate this opportunity.
Businesses!
If you own a local business, or if you work in a local business, we are now accepting applications for the year ending April 30, 2026. We are selective in establishing relationships with our Business Supporters. Our Selected Business Partners are category exclusive, for example if you are a massage therapist, you will be the only massage therapist promoted by our association for this program, or Accountant, Chiropractor, etc. The only exception to this is restaurants; each one is unique in its own specialties and appeal.
By participating in this opportunity…
- 1,000 Southern Gables residents will receive your brochure/advertising and contact information delivered to their door.
- Your information and business card are listed for 1 year on the SGNA website.
- 14’ x 14’ reserved space for your booth at the Neighborhood Night Out in August.
- Referrals for your specific services upon resident request.
- A feature or promotion on the SGNA Facebook and Nextdoor pages.
